ACTion Plan: At Home — Parent Tracking Log for Reducing Accommodation
This companion tracking worksheet helps parents record and reflect on real-life moments when they resisted accommodating their child's anxiety, OCD, or avoidance behaviors. Rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this at-home practice log is designed for use between therapy sessions, giving parents a structured way to notice patterns, build self-awareness, and stay connected to their values.
For each accommodation resisted, parents document the type of accommodation (reassurance, supporting avoidance, supporting rituals, or changing family routines), when and where it happened, and what their child experienced in the short and long term. Parents also rate their own present-moment awareness, note the thoughts and stories they stepped back from, and track the emotions they felt , including intensity and their willingness to make space for those emotions.
Best for:
Parent coaching
Between-session homework
What's included: A printable, multi-entry log sheet designed for repeated use, so parents can track progress session to session.
Pairs perfectly with the Developing an ACTion Plan worksheet for a complete accommodation-reduction toolkit.
